The Florida Association for Volunteers in the Caribbean and the Americas (FAVACA) is a Florida-based nonprofit organization established in 1982 that sources top professionals from the state of Florida to provide training to grassroots organizations, business associations, academic institutions and government ministries in the Caribbean and Americas. FAVACA volunteer professionals provide short-term technical assistance in a variety of fields such as agriculture, business development, healthcare, education and organizational strengthening.
FAVACA seeks resumes for a position in our Hallandale Beach office to assist with the following responsibilities:
- Identify and recruit South Florida organizations to host participants of a foreign exchange program
- Evaluate requests for technical assistance that FAVACA receives and recruit volunteer experts for specific scopes of work
- Coordinate travel arrangements and communications with exchange program participants, volunteers and partner organizations
- Research potential funding sources for proposed projects
Applicants should possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in International Relations, Political Science, Public Administration or related fields
- Exhibit leadership, compassion and respect for mission of the organization and excellent interpersonal and writing skills
- Past experience in international development strongly preferred
- Fluency in Spanish and/or Creole preferred
